West Tigers find their competitive edge with Kitman Labs
West Tigers Rugby League Club partners with Athlete Optimisation company Kitman Labs to help enhance performance and optimise athlete health.
DUBLIN, IRELAND, March 28, 2018
Australian NRL team, the West Tigers are gearing up for their most competitive season yet, striking a new partnership with the Silicon Valley athlete optimisation company, Kitman Labs.
The West Tigers, who currently sit in fourth place out of the sixteen NRL teams, are using Kitman Labs’ Athlete Optimization System™ to improve the daily screening of their athletes and to simplify the centralisation and analysis of their data. Kitman Labs consolidates and links GPS, medical and biomechanical data with injury data, giving coaches, performance and medical staff a quick, comprehensive assessment of their squads’ health and performance status.
The success of the new partnership was confirmed by the West Tigers General Manager of Football, Kelly Egan.
“We look to perpetuate competitiveness throughout our high performance structure and the Kitman Labs technology available is obviously a key piece of that puzzle,” Egan said.
“Kitman Labs is leading the way in sports science and their advanced analytics allow us to harness key data to secure a competitive edge in player monitoring”.
Stephen Smith, founder and CEO of Kitman Labs, commented:
“We are delighted to work with an organisation that is continually evolving and adopting new best practices,” Smith said.
“We are supporting their current processes, providing unique insights about their athletes and simplifying information exchange amongst the staff, all which supports their real-time, dynamic, and competitive culture”.
Egan commented further, stating the West Tigers choice to use Kitman Labs was also due to its fit with the club’s best practice ethos.
“The high level of accessibility of their solution, the continual pace of innovation and the real-time support made Kitman Labs an easy choice and one that was easily adopted by all parties, high performance staff, coaches and athletes”.
Wests joins a growing base of NRL clubs using Kitman Labs. North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, Vodafone Warriors and the Canberra Raiders use Kitman Labs as a core component of their performance program. In addition, some of the world’s leading rugby leagues and teams, including Six Nations Champion Irish Rugby, use Kitman Labs to keep their players healthy and playing their best.
